FISHING:
Himachal Pradesh is endowed with both cold and temperate waterways. Kullu
is famous for trout fishing. Himachal Pradesh Government has also established
multiplication of trout fish in Kullu which can be introduced into other cold
water channels. These include Katrain, Raison, Kasal and Naggar, then along
the river Tirhan near Larji in the Saini valley.
Permits for fishing can be obtained from the District Fisheries Officer.
ANGLING IN CHAIL
The Kangra valley is the proverbial home of the might Mahaseer as also Malli, Sole, Bachwa, Gid and Shingara. The Binwa tributary of the river Beas, Kuru, Dehra and Pong Dam reservoir are an angler’s paradise.
WILDLIFE OF CHAIL
CHAIL: When the late Maharaja BhupinderSingh of Patiala was expelled
from Shimla,he decided to create his own capital. A number of facilities of
tourist interest sprang up in Chail which included comfortable accommodation
and a willife sanctuary which has ghoral, kakkar, sambhar, wild fowl and “khahj”
and “cheer” pheasants. Sightseeing posts have been constructed never blossom
and at Kharion.
Chail also has a large productin unit of white button mushrooms which find sale in Delhi and other principal cities.
