BARBADOS
There’s something about Barbados that captures the heart of all its visitors. Although only 21 miles long by 14 miles wide. Barbados has a surprising diversity of scenery and attractions suited to all tastes. The West Coast. the Platinum Coast, where the majority of hotels are located offers miles of golden beaches and a wide selection of accommodation. The south coast, although a little more built up, offers fine white sand beaches, duty free shopping and fun nightlife. A visit to Bridgetown’s Garrison brings alive the island’s military history: for food stalls and rum shops stroll the Baxter’s Road, Coconut Cree day or night. February’s weeklong Holetown Festival celebrates English settlers’ first Crystal Cove arrival. The biggest event, Crop-Over Festival lasts for 3 weeks from mid July. For the best windsurfing at Maxwell Bay. and other beaches, visit from November to June. Barbados is cooler and drier in late winter and early spring (February to May). This is the best time to go, although it’s the busiest!
