Day 1
Arrive in South Africa’s Mother City CAPE TOWN, meet & greet by a Spectrum Tour
registered tour guide. The rest of the day, lunch and dinner will be at your
leisure (to own account). Overnight in Cape Town. Flight booked by you
Day 2
Breakfast. City tour of Cape Town, stops include:
* South Africa’s oldest museum
* Company Gardens
* Bo Kaap Malay Quarter
* Victoria and Alfred Waterfront
* Table Mountain (weather permitting). Table Mountain is Cape Town’s most famous attraction and is 1 086m above sea level.
Lunch will either be on Table Mountain or at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront (drinks to own account). Dinner will be at your leisure (to own account). Overnight in Cape Town (B,L)
Day 3
Breakfast. Departure for a full day wine lands tour in the richest wine making area. Wine and cheese tasting at the Fairview Wine Estate. More wine tasting and lunch at an estate in Franschoek. After lunch, visit the Stellenbosch Museum. Stellenbosch is South Africa’s second oldest town and is renowned for it’s Cape Dutch buildings and Oak Tree lined streets. On your return to Cape Town, you will be able to go up Signal Hill (spectacular views of Cape Town and Robben Island), dinner will be at your leisure (to own account). We suggest a visit to the Africa Cafe for a dinner of authentic African food. Overnight in Cape Town. (B,L)
Day 4
Breakfast. Day at your leisure – shop or relax on one of Cape Town’s stunning beaches. An optional excursion to Robben Island can be arranged at an additional cost. Robben Island boasts stunning views of Table Mountain and was the inspiration for Nelson Mandela's book, Long Walk to Freedom. Alternatively, a visit to the District Six Museum is very interesting. The District Six Museum Foundation was established in 1989 and launched as a museum in 1994 to keep alive the memories of District Six and displaced people everywhere. Lunch and dinner will be at your leisure (to own account) Five Flies is one of Cape Town’s good restaurants and a must for dinner. Overnight in Cape Town. (B)
Day 5
Breakfast followed by a morning departure for a full day Cape of Good Hope tour. The tour includes a visit to the 3000 strong African Penguin colony at Boulder’s Beach, Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point Nature Reserve – 7 750 hectares of reserve are home to indigenous flora and fauna, including Baboon, Eland and over 150 species of bird including the biggest bird in the world, the Ostrich. Cruise to Duiker Island in Hout Bay, to view Cape Fur Seals (weather permitting). A lunch stop will be provided along the way (drinks to own account). On return to Cape Town stop at the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens - well known for its plant diversity (time permitting). Dinner will be at your leisure (to own account). Overnight in Cape Town. Day 6
Breakfast. Drive up the West Coast stopping for a seafood lunch at a beach restaurant, enjoy ocean delicacies like lobster, calamari and mussels (drinks to own account). A flower tour will be arranged if the season allows. A visit to the West Coast Ostrich Ranch to learn more about the world's largest bird is optional (to own account). After lunch, you will be transferred back to Cape Town. Dinner will be at your leisure (to own account). Overnight in Cape Town. (B,L)
Day 7
Breakfast. Full day Pathways of the Sun Tour with lunch (10h30 – approx 19h00). Cape town is, quite literally, the land of the setting sun. Follow the Pathways of the Sun, through the eyes of ancient man. The fact that these rock formations look strikingly human has never before been scrutinised. Discover more about this phenomenon and learn to appreciate the spirit of nature that we are part of. Dinner will be at your leisure (to own account). Overnight in Cape Town. (B,L)
Day 8
Breakfast. Transfer to Cape Town International Airport for onwards travel. Tour ends. (B) Onward travel booked by you
