Tic Tac offers a large variety of tandoori items, kati rolls and a separate Chinese menu. Chicken kababs like kalmi, haryali, tangri and reshmi (Rs 58-68) and mutton sheeks (Rs 60) are all very popular and fast moving. The chicken/mutton kati kabab (Rs 50) too, is worth a try. A glass partition permits diners to view the preparation of the dishes.
We opted for a mutton sheek kati roll (Rs
65). The paratha, layered with egg, was stuffed with sheek kabab and shredded onion, rolled and conveniently wrapped in butter paper. Other roll options are chicken tikka/reshmi (Rs 65), mutton/chicken (Rs 30), with egg (Rs, 35). For the vegetarians, there are the vegetable /paneer (Rs 30) and paneer tikka rolls (Rs 50).
Tic Tac also serves a variety of parathas, rotis and naans (Rs 12-18), to mop up the rich gravy items on the menu. "Our gravy items are typically Punjabi," says Latheef. Chicken gravies bear the names of the places of their origin, like Hyderabadi and Kolhapuri (Rs 60). But butter chicken masala (full Rs 100, half Rs 50) is the speciality here, we learnt. Regular favorites in mutton like rogan josh and saagwala are also available. Chicken anarkali (Rs 60) has a thick white gravy of cream and cashewnuts.
Vegetarians can choose from aloo palak or gobi, dal makhani, palak paneer masala and peas pepper fry, etc (Rs 50 each).
The Chinese menu also has its loyal patrons. One can begin with starters like golden fried prawns, spring rolls, chicken kiachi and finger chicken (Rs 60-80). Soups are the usual sweet corn, tomato egg drop, vegetable and spinach clear soup et al.
Each dish had its own distinct color and flavor. The fish and prawn dishes are priced between Rs 70-78, while the poultry and lamb dishes are priced at Rs 60. There is a variety of rice and noodles (Rs 48-65). Each Chinese vegetarian dish is priced at Rs 50.
Tic Tac also does outdoor catering. Crowded on most days, making a reservation in advance for a meal here is advisable.
