Official currency is the US dollar and major credit cards and travellers cheques are widely accepted. A good tip is to take your currency in small notes as often places can be short of change. Mid April to July is the best time to visit. August to November is hottest, when the average daily high hits a sweltering 90 F (32 C) and between Dec — Feb the evenings can get a bit chilly.
