Kebab Junction Delhi
It is difficult to get excited about yet another Mughlai eatery in Delhi, where there are dozens of excellent mid-budget eateries. More so when the restaurant’s name evokes the impression of a disused railway station, now leased out to a restauranteur.
However, Kebab Junction has much to commend it, not least of which is its farm house location—past Chattarpur village—though it does lie somewhat off the road and is not easy to find at night. Also, the excellent decor is both restful and stimulating: simple, tasteful and spacious.
The food though is very mainstream. On a scale of zero to 10, we wouldn’t give it much over five or six. However, the fare does tend to the lighter, more herbal, less spicy cuisine, and that is entirely to our taste. The comprehensive tandoori list (Rs 85-375) features tandoori prawns, fish tikkas, saffron-coated whole tandoori pomfret, Afghani murg, several herbal variations of kebabs, lamb and chicken seekhs, raan, lamb chops, etc. The vegetarians get two types of paneer tikkas, mushrooms and khoya stuffed potatoes and assorted tandoori vegetables.
This eatery is open for dinner through the week, and for lunch too on weekends. We like Kebab Junction for its easy to access location (once you know where it is.
