Calicut
Calicut is the town where the first European, Vasco-de-Gama, had landed at Kappad in 1498. Later the Dutch, the French and the British dominated the area. Today it is one of the important ports on the west coast of India and still maintains its commercial traditions.

Cochin
The Queen of the Arabian Sea-one of the finest natural harbours on the Arabian Coast of India. Cochin has been a port of call for foreign traders from very early times. From time immemorial Arabs, Dutch, Chinese, British, Portuguese sea sailors followed the sea route to Cochin and left their unprint on the town.

Festivals in Kerala
This festival takes place in some of Kerala's major towns- Thrissur, Alappuzha and Thrivananthapuram. While caparisoned elephants go out in procession, boat races on the backwaters and cultural events lend color to the festivities.

kasargod
Northernmost district of Kerala, it is situated on the sea coast 420 km from Cochin and 50 km from Mangalore. There is a fort at CHANDRAGIRI built in the 17th century by Sivappa Nayaka of Bedanore who established his authority over the area and built a chain of forts.
