Day 01. Cochin:
Arrive Cochin from your home country by mid morning. Garland welcome, assistance
and transfer to hotel. Afternoon free to walk around the Fort Kochi area to
explore the St. Francis Church and huge Chinese Fishing nets which adorn the
northern shores. O/n Hotel.
Day 02. Cochin to Munnar:
After breakfast drive to Munnar (about 140kms/04hrs), situated in the heart
of the Cardamom Hills, at an altitude of 1700m. Munnar is surrounded by endless
green, rolling hills and 30 of the world's highest tea estates. Check into the
hotel. Afternoon we make a short drive to Rajamalai Wildlife Sanctuary proclaimed
as a National Park since it supports the largest population of Nilgiri Thar
existing in the world now. A wide variety of plant life is present here. The
Nilgiri Tahr is seen in the Highlands and rocky regions of this national park.
Explore the sanctuary by walking; the views are superb from here. Rest of the
day free to relax. O/n Hotel.
Day 03. Munnar to Silent Valley:
Morning after breakfast we will make a short drive to the foothills of Silent
Valley to start our 04 hrs trek to Silent Valley. After 04 hrs trek we stop
for our camp at Kurinji Valley. O/n Tents.
Day 04. Silent Valley to Meespulimalai:
Today we walk for 05 - 06hrs through the valleys and rhododendron forest and
will camp at rhododendron valley. Today's trek will take us through the second
highest peak of Western Ghats (2640mtrs).
Day 05. Meesapulimalai to Cliff Hut:
Morning after breakfast we start. today's trek to Cliff Hut (06hrs). The views
are stunning through out this walk. Camp at Log Valley.
Day 06. Cliff Hut to Korangani :
Morning trek to Korangani (about 04 - 05hrs) through the valleys. O/n Tents.
Day07. Korangani to Kolukumalai to Munnar:
Early morning start to reach Kolukumalai (about 0405hrs), the world's highest
tea growing estate in the world. We finish our trek in Kolokumalai from where
we start our jeep safari to Suryanelli driving through interior villages of
Munnar. Upon arrival check into the hotel Seinna Village. Rest of the day free
to relax. O/n Hotel.
Note: For this programme, we should use only Sienna Village as this hotel
is near to where we finish the trek.
Day 08. Munnar to A1leppey :
After an early breakfast we descend to the plains of Alleppey (about 185kms/04hrs)
to board our houseboat, which comprises
twin rooms, with attached bathrooms, running water, and a lounge area in which
to relax and enjoy the sights on the shore. We start our sail through scenic
backwaters, passing through one of the few areas in the world where farming
is done below sea level. The houseboat will cruise through the Chambakulam area
by mid-morning before anchoring allow us to explore the boat yard, which displays
the traditional long snake boats used in races. Visit St. Mary's Church, established
by St. Thomas in 1721. In the evening, catch a glimpse ofvillage life along
the backwaters and experience a way of life unique to this region. The boat
will pass through picturesque stretches of the backwaters of Alleppey and moor
up for the night in Vemabanadu Lake. O/n Houseboat.
Day 09. A1leppey to Kovalam:
After breakfast disembark from the houseboat, straight drive to Kovalam (about
160kms/04hrs), the natural sheltered bay of Kerala. Check into the hotel, rest
of the day free to relax. O/n Hotel.
DAY 10. Kovalam:
The day at leisure. O/n Hotel.
Day 11. Kovalam:
Morning free to relax, late afternoon transfer to Trivandrum Int'I airport to
board flight to your home country.
