some national park and sanctuaries like Ranthambore National Park, Sariska

JAIPUR
THE PINK CITY
Jaipur is founded in 1727 A.D. by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. It is single
planned city of its contemporary time. Bengali architect Vidyadhar
Bhattarcharya planned this beautiful city. It has straight spacious avenues,
streets, roads, lanes and one lane shops on the both side of the major
bazaars. Visitor can shop Rajasthani clothes, stone, Jewellery, handlooms
and grand handicrafts items. The colourful costumes, melodious music and
folk dances make your journey remarkable.
Important SightsHawa Mahal ( The palace of wind): Jaipur is
well known for its Hawa Mahal all over the country. It is built in 1799 A.D.
It is a five storeyed structure stand on a high platform along with the main
bazar. It is made of pink sandstone which give it a splendour look. Its
entrance gate is situated in the west direction. The exterior part of the
building have 953 small honey combed casement in a large curve and each
curve has a separate balcony and an arch. These windows keeps the building
cool by enabling proper cross ventilation of air. The building is specially
meant for the ladies of Sawai Pratap Singh. They can watch the regal
possession and everyday life of the crowded bazar.
The City
Palace : The city palace located in the mid of the old city. It is a
mingle structure of Rajasthani and Mughal style. On the entrance there is
two sculpture of the elephant who look like the guard of the palace. The
white marble shaft supported the carved arches which are decorated with
floral, colourful stones and gold.
The Palace has a museum with a
huge collection of armoury & ammunition, Rajasthani dresses, different
shapes and size of swords. Different kinds of gems, gold and enamel used in
the handle of some swords.
There is an art gallery. It has a
superb collection of carpets, craft articles, miniature paintings, royal
equipments. Raja Sawai Jai Singh II was very keen interest in astronomy so
the astronomical works in Persian, Latin, Arabic can be seen here.
Jantar Mantar : Jantar Mantar is an another attraction of Jaipur. It is
built in 1728-1734 by Sawai Jai Singh II for measuring the objects from
height to time, and also the movement of planets and stars. It is an
instrument made of concrete. Its shape and setting are designed
scientifically which represents the excellent astrological example of its
contemporary world. This observatory instrument move clockwise and have
several yantras in it. Small Samrat is a large sundial used to know the
solar time. Dhurva calculate the second, small karati measure the latitude
and longitude of the heavenly bodies, Large Samrat is same as the small
samrat but huge in size, Unnathamsa used to find the altitude of the planet
etc., Disha indicate the north direction.
Govind Dev Ji Temple
: It is the most famous temple of Jaipur dedicated to the Lord Krishna.
It is situated in the mid of Jai Niwas Garden.
Swargasuli :
Swargasuli is located on the west of the Tripolia bazaar. This highest
tower of Jaipur built by Sawai Ishwari Singh in 1749 A.D. in the memory of
his grand victory.
Ram Niwas Bagh : Ram Niwas Bagh is
built by Sawai Ram Singh II in 1868 A.D. It is an spacious grand and
beautiful garden with a zoo, a greenhouse, an aviary, a harbarlum and
museum. There is also a large sport ground. The Albert Hall is the marvelous
structure shows the Indo-sarcenic architectural style. it was open with a
huge collection of sculpture, wares, painting, there is also an Egyptian
mummy and decorative Persian carpets. Recently, to promote the cultural
events an art gallery and an auditorium has been added.
Doll
Museum : There is an museum with huge collections of dolls of different
part of the world. It is located in the complex of the deaf and dumb
children school near police memorial.
Mubark mahal : Jaipur's next attraction is Mubarak Mahal that was used
as the guest house for the Maharaja. It is two storyed building having a
large courtyard. There is the textile and costume museum on the first floor
where we can see fine fabrics, toys, musical instruments etc. An armoury
museum containing weapon of this time, is located in the northwest side.
There are two elephant statues on the entrance. The entrance door is
decorated with fine work of jail on brass.
Chandra Mahal :
Chandra Mahal the Moon Palace is the seven storeyed building. There is the
large and high ceiling Halls on the first and second floor of the Mahal. On
the ground floor there is a spacious courtyard and an Audience Hall. The
Pritam Niwas decorated with the Italian paintings.
Amer Palace
and Shila Mata Temple: Amer Palace is an another beautiful tourist spot.
There is a beautiful compound, hall, gardens and temple founded by Raja man
Singh, Sawai Man Singh, and Mirza Raja Jai Singh. The visitors can enjoy an
elephant ride from Singh Pol to Jaleb Chowk. There is a Pillared Hall called
Diwan a Aam. The gate was double storyed with beautiful paintings. A
beautiful but tiny garden increase the beauty of the palace.
There is
an Shila Mata Mandir on the other side of the chowk. Raja Man Singh brought
an image of Patron goddess from East Bengal and placed here. Devotees,
worshipped the goddess with eternal love and devotion.
Beside
these beautiful and elegant places, BM Birla Planetarium, Galtaji, Jain
Temple, Moti Doongri and Lakshmi Narayan Temple, Nahargarh, Sanganer, Bagru,
Ramgarh Lake , Samod, Bairath, Abhaneri, Statue Circle Ghat ki Guni, and
Maharani ki Chhatri are some of other important places in tourist point of
view.
Bazaar and Shopping: In Jaipur
tourist can experience and enjoy the shopping of fabulous goods. Rajasthani
(Govt. Handicrafts shop located on Mall road are the main shopping complex
for the tourist. Except this MI Road, Bapu Bazar which is known for the
printed costumes, Johari Bazar famous for Jewellery, Chaupar and Nehru Bazar
famous for its Jaipuris textile, one can shop precious gems, handicrafts
items, exotic pottery, woolen carpets, leather footwear and embroided
chappals and shoes and much more. On Sunday the shopping complexes are
remained closed.
Festival : In Jaipur
some unique festivals are celebrated
Gangaur : Celebrated in
March-April by women of the city. This festival is celebrated for the
dedication of Goddess Gauri.
Elephant festival:Celebrated
in March. People enjoyed the holi festival on the elephant back.
Teej : (July August) This festival dedicated to the Parvati the Wife
of Bhagwan Shankaras. A mela organised on this day in which camels,
elephants, and dancers increased the glory of the festival.
Hoe to Reach Jaipur Air : Sanganer airport has flights from
Delhi Jodhpur, Mumbai, Aurangabad, Ahmedabad, Udaipur and Rajkot. Airport

the city.
