This is Northeast India's largest and remotest state with a population of just over one million. Along with the state's rich tribal heritage and its wonderful variety of orchids, on this tour we also see its stunningly unspoilt nature and encounter the wild life of Kaziranga National Park in Assam and lovely tea gardens.
Day 01 : Europe to Delhi :
Arrive Delhi, garland welcome ,assistance and transfer to the pre booked hotel.
Day 02 : Delhi - Guwahati-Kaziranga :
Morning after breakfast transfer to domestic airport, board flight to Guwahati. Upon arrival, straight drive to Kaziranga (220 kms/5hrs). Overnight at jungle Lodge.
Day 03 : Kaziranga National Park :
Is one of the most picturesque wildlife parks in India. The natural habitat of the one horned rhino , Kaziranga lies on the southern bank of the Brahmaputra river. Originally established as a game reserve in 1908,which included specific portions of Assam's Sibsagar district, Kaziranga was declared a sanctuary in 1940 to counter excessive poaching. The park's original inhabitants -the rhino and the elephant being the most noticeable now, thrive in a serene environment to the sheer delight of nature lovers. Its vast open spaces, the presence of the mighty Brahmaputra, and adjoining Mikir hills, makes a trip to Kaziranga a complete 'jungle' adventure. Morning and afternoon game viewing in the Kaziranga National park by elephant back. Overnight at jungle Lodge.
Day 04 : Kaziranga to Bhalukpong (110 kms/3 hrs) :
Morning drive. The foothills dividing Assam and Arunachal Pradesh is reputed for its hot springs, scenic beauty and the orchid centre. Overnight at Govt. Lodge (basic)
Day 05 : Bhalukpong to Ziro (250 Kms /5hrs) :
After breakfast drive to Ziro -a picturesque town on the Apatani plateau. Lunch (packed) enroute. Overnight stay at Hotel Bluepine for two nights.
Day 06 :
Day long excursion to Hong village (largest tribal village in Asia) and other near by villages and interface with Apatani tribes.
Day 07 : After breakfast drive to Daporizo (17 6km / 7hrs) :
Interface with Tagins and Hill Miris on the way. Overnight stay at Govt IB (Basic) at Dumporizo.
Day 08 : After breakfast drive to Along (170km/6hrs) :
Packed lunch. Enroute visit and interface with Galong tribes. Overnight at Govt Circuit House (basic)
Day 09 : After breakfast drive to Pasighat (160km / 6hrs) :
Enjoy the breathtaking view of Pangin -the meeting point of Siyom and the Siang River. Packed lunch. Enroute visit the Minyong tribal village. Overnight at Govt IB/Lodge(Basic).
Day 10 : After breakfast drive to the river front and take a boat cruise to Dibrugarh (5 hrs by ferry) :
After lunch we take you for a tea tour around a tea estate to learn all about tea -its origin, how it is grown and all about tea tasting and quality. Evening join in a dance performance by an ethnic Assamese Bihu dance group in the bungalow lawns. Overnight at the Chang Bungalow.
Day 11 :
Tea Garden - DibrugarhAfter early breakfast get ready for a day trip to Digboi (80km/2hrs)- the first oil town of Asia. Visit the oil museum and the 2" World War cemetery. Packed Lunch. Drive to Tai-Phake village. Return to Dibrugarh late afternoon enroute see the bells temple. Evening relax in the Chang Bungalow after a long day out.
Day 12 : Dibrugarh -Delhi :
Morning free to relax, afternoon transfer to airport to board flight to Delhi. Upon arrival, transfer to int'l airport to board flight to your home country.
Day 13 : Delhi :
Early morning board your flight.
