A stroll along the 700m of well maintained pathways through the Alpine Garden takes anything from 30 minutes to two hours. Another attraction is the Alpine Dairy on Alp Iselten. Here you can watch milk products being prepared—freshly pasteurised milk, delicious butter, spicy cheese, all to savor on the spot or to purchase as tasty takeaways, states the press release. They are also on sale at the restaurant on the summit.
Schynige Platte is also a veritable hiker’s holiday heaven. The Panorama Path takes you on a winding circular route, ascending slightly to the ridge above the station and then continuing in a wide arc through meadows back to the Alpine garden. This route is particularly suitable for our younger visitors. The one-day hike from the Schynige to the Faulhorn and on to First, above Grindelwald, is one of the best loved hikes in Switzerland.
