Marhaba Lounge Appropriately drawing inspiration from the famous Arabian folktale, 1001 Nights, the new Marhaba Lounge was inaugurated at Dubai International Airport recently. Described as the only theme lounge of its kind in the world, the facility is open 24 hours a day to all classes of passengers. Passengers will have to pay Dh 60 (approximately Rs 600) for all separate areas: a majlis a formal seating area, a small business center and a food court.

Accommodating 40 passengers, the two seating areas combine rich furnishings with functionality, states a report in the Khaleej Times. Sofas, floor cushions and drapes in crimson and gold set off traditional Arab artifacts arrayed on low gold tables in the Majlis, while the other area is decorated in blue and gold. Telephones for local calls are placed throughout the lounge.

The business center has two PCs plus outlets for passengers to access their laptops, as well as fax facilities. And the food court serves a variety of Arabic and continental hors d’oeuvres and refreshments on a self-service basis with an unlimited supply of hot and cold beverages. Marhaba staff at the launge will also offer services such as reconfirmation of onward flights and chick in of transfer passengers.
