The itinerary of Palace on Wheels includes 7 Nights / 8 Days of an unforgettable lifetime journey, covering some of the most fascinating tourist destinations of India. The train takes you to the colorful cities, magnificent forts and palaces, wildlife sanctuaries of Rajasthan and the beautiful Taj Mahal at Agra.
Day 01 - Wednesday - DelhiPalace on Wheels
On arrival at Safdarjung Railway Station, the guests are accorded a warm and traditional welcome. The Palace on Wheels departs at 18.30 hours for Jaipur. Enjoy a delicious dinner on board at 20.00 hours. Overnight stay will be on board the train.
Day 02 - Thursday - Jaipur Arrival: 03.00 hrs. Departure 19.30 hours
Upon arrival at Jaipur, the pink city of India, you will be greeted by colorfully decorated Elephants and a Shehnai recitation. Enjoy a half-day sightseeing tour of Jaipur, visiting the Hawa Mahal (the palace of winds) followed by the visit of magnificent Amber Fort. Enjoy an elephant ride at the Fort.
After lunch at the famous Rambagh Palace Hotel, visit Jantar Mantar and the City Palace. Return back to the Palace on Wheels around 18.30hrs to proceed for Jaisalmer. Enjoy dinner onboard the train.
Day 03 - Friday - Jaisalmer Arrival: 09.00 hours Departure 23.45 hours
Jaisalmer is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Rajasthan. The city is famous for its Golden Fort and beautiful Hvelis (mansions). Visit the famous Patwon ki haveli, Nathmalji ki haveli and Salim Singh ki Haveli. Thereafter, shop at Rajasthali,- the only emporium of Rajasthan Govt. offering fine pattu shawls, mirror work & embroidered articles, wooden boxes, trinkets, silver jewelry and curios.
After lunch on board, enjoy an exciting camel ride on the sand dunes of Sam. Dinner on the sand dunes under the moonlit sky is another highlight of your visit. Thereafter, enjoy a colorful cultural program at a hotel in Jaisalmer. Later, return back to the Palace on Wheels to start for Jodhpur.
Day 04 - Saturday - Jodhpur Arrival: 07.00 hours Departure 15.30 hours
In the morning, the Palace on Wheels arrives in Jodhpur at 7 am. Jodhpur is the second largest city of Rajasthan is fortified by a high stonewall with seven gates and several fortresses. Visit the famous Mehrangarh Fort, Moti Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Phool Mahal, Sileh Khana and Daulat Khana. Then, enjoy your lunch at the majestic Umaid Bhawan Palace. Return to the Palace on Wheels to start for Sawai Madhopur.

Day 05 - Sunday - Sawai Madhopur - Arrival: 04.00 hours, Departure:

Sawai Madhopur is famous for its proximity to the Ranthambore National Park- one of the most famous National Parks and Tiger Reserves of India. Enjoy a jeep safari to explore the flora and fauna of the Park. Enjoy tracking tigers, chital, deer, monkeys and a wide variety of exotic and colorful birds. Also visit the 10th century Ranthambore Fort before returning back to the Palace on Wheels to start for Chittorgarh.
Day 05 - Sunday - Chittorgarh Arrival: 16.00 Hours, Departure 05.30

Chittorgarh -the legendary city of Rajasthan is famous as the city of bravery and romance. The 7th century Chittorgarh Fort, has witnessed many wars fought over to protect the dignity and respect of the beautiful land. Other attractions worth visiting in the Fort include Vijay Stambh (Tower of Victory) and the Kirti Stambh (Tower of Fame). Overnight stay onboard the train.
Day 06 -Monday - Arrival 07.00 hours, Udaipur Departure: 17.30 hours
In the morning, a luxury coach takes you to Udaipur. Enjoy a memorable tour of the palaces, forts and temples at Udaipur. Visit the two most beautiful landmarks of Udaipur- the Jag Niwas (Lake Palace) and the Jag Mandir, which appear to rise from the blue waters of Lake Pichola. Enjoy lunch at the Lake Palace Hotel.
Day 07 - Tuesday - Bharatpur Arrival: 06.30 hours, Departure: 09.00

The Palace on Wheels arrives at Bharatpur in the morning. After breakfast, visit the world famous Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, Keoladeo Ghana National Park. Enjoy spotting numerous colorful varieties of birds including the Siberian Cranes- the migratory birds coming to the Park from Siberia 5,000 Km away during winters.
Day 07 - Tuesday - Agra Arrival: 12.00 hours, Departure: 21.00 hours
In the morning, the Palace on Wheels arrives in Bharatpur, the capital of Maharaja Suraj Mal . After breakfast pay a visit to the world famous bird sanctuary, Keoladeo Ghana National Park, the nesting place for thousands of Egrets, Siberian Cranes, migratory Water Fowl and other species of birds. On way to Agra, Visit Fatehpur Sikri - the 16th century historical town, built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar. See the Buland Darwaza- the largest gateway in the world, the Jama mosque and the tomb of Sheikh Salim Chisti, a famous Sufi saint of India.
On arrival at Agra, enjoy lunch in the hotel. Thereafter, visit the magnificent Red Fort and the world famous Taj Mahal - the most amazing and beautiful historical monument in the world. The Taj Mahal was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jehan, as a symbol of love, in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Enjoy dinner on board the train and start for Delhi.
Day 08 - Wednesday - Delhi Arrival - 04.00 hours
The Palace on Wheels arrives at Delhi Cantt Railway station early in the morning. Enjoy your breakfast on board the train and leave the train with sweet memories of the past week.
