SOUTH INDIA HERITAGE TOUR

Day 01 Delhi / Madras:
Morning fight to Madras. Half day city tour of Fort St George, the first British
settlement in India, Guindy Park, Kapaleswar Temple and Marina beach. Overnight
Madras.
Day 02 Visit Kanchipuram,
Capital of Pallava and Chola dynasties, also known as the 'City of thousand
Temples' reknown for its traditions of silk weaving. Later visit Mahabalipuram,
noted for its shore temples and rock carving and the crocodile farm. Overnight
Madras.
Day 03 Madras / Bangalore :
Morning train/flight to Bangalore, 'Garden city' with wide avenues, classic
bungalows and Gothic churches. City tour of Tipu Sultan's Palace, Bull Temple
and the Botanical Gardens. overnight Bangalore.
Day 04 Bangalore / Hassan :
Visit exquisite Hoysala Temples at Halebid and Belur. Later see the 57 feet
Jain statue of Gomateswara at Sravanbelagola.
Day 05 Hassan / Mysore :
Famous as 'The Jasmine and Sandalwood' city of India. Visit the Maharaja's
Palace, Zoo, Chamundi Hills and evening tour of the brilliantly illuminated
Brindavan Gardens with dancing fountains overnight Mysore.
Day 06 Visit Srirangapatnam,
the battle scarred fortress town straddling the river Cauvery and capital
of the 'Tiger of Mysore' - Tipu Sultan. Visit Tipu's elegant summer palace,
Jama Masjid, the Gumbaz and the Fort. Also the Sri Ranganathswamy temple,
one of the oldest Dravidian temples in Karnataka. overnight Mysore.
Day 07 Mysore / Ooty :
A picturesque. drive through the Bandipur and Mudumalai tiger reserves, tea
estates and rolling downs upto the delightful resort of Ooty in the Nilgiris.
Overnight Ooty.
Day 08
Full day leisure tour of Botanical Gardens, Ooty lake, pleasant walks on the
Golf course and Dodabetta heights. Overnight Ooty.
Day 09 Ooty
/ Cochin : South to the Malabar coast Cochin, 'Venice of the East'
situated on the backwaters of the Arabian Sea. Evening: Kathakali Dance
Show. Overnight Cochin.
Day 10 City tour visiting the Jewish synagogue and
the Dutch Palace. Afternoon boat cruise on backwaters visiting Bolghaty
palace, Chinese fishing nets. Overnight Cochin.
Day
11 Cochin / Periyar :Rich variety of wildlife noted for elephants
and water birds. Evening boat ride on Periyar lake to view game. Overnight
Periyar.
Day 12 Periyar / Kovalam : Early
morning game viewing. Later drive to Trivandrum and Kovalam, south India's
premier beach resort ideal for swimming, water sports, Yoga, deep sea
fishing or general relaxation. Kovalam is famous for its clear waters and
silk soft white sands. Overnight Kovalam.
Day 13
Relax on the palm fringed beach. Watch fishermen putting out to
sea, visit local fishing village. Overnight Kovalam.
Day 14 Visit Cape Comorin, India's land end,
meeting point of the Indian Ocean, the Arabian sea and the Bay of Bengal.
The sunrise and sunset are spectacular. Visit Kanyakumari temple, Gandhi
Mandap, a monument erected to commemorate the spot where Mahatma Gandhi's
ashes were immersed in the sea and VIvekananda Memorial on a rocky Island
200 mts. offshore. Overnight Kovalam.
Day 15
Transfer to Trivandrum airport for flight to Delhi. Evening cocktails by
Wanderlust.

ISLANDS IN THE SUN 16-19 a. ANDAMAN
ISLANDS: Access by air or boat from Madras to Port Blair. Tucked
away in the Bay of Bengal, South of Burma, has assortment of plants, animals
and colourful tribal people. Indulge in sunbathing, scuba diving,
snorkelling and various other water sports.

b.LAKSHADWEEP ISLANDS: Access by air or boat from Cochin. Situated
in the Arabian sea, it boasts of some of the best beaches in the world.
Activities include wind surfing, kayaking and snorkelling.
16-20 c. MALDIVES: By air from Trivandrum. Further
south of India, are a group of coral islands, with magnificient beach
resorts and water sports.

Air from Delhi, Bombay, Madras or Cochin. This former Portugese colony
offers some of the best unspoilt and secluded beaches in South Asia. A
mediterranian atmosphere still exists in Goa.
