There are so many pictures —the fabulous Mughal Emperors — recalled to us by the Indian Love Lyrics and Garden of Shalimar - who have bequeathed to us their beautiful architecture of which the Taj Mahal must be their immortal masterpiece.
Then there is the beauty of the landscape — far-famed Kashmir, the tropical South. Or the Himalayas, "Abode of the Gods", unbelievably sublime, mantled in the purity of eternal snows. Or the awesome rivers, rising in the Himalayas, which flow past her holy cities, holiest of which is Benares, on the Ganges, to which flock pilgrims from all over India to purify themselves in the sacred waters of salvation.
Above all, in the very atmosphere itself, is the mysticism
of India, which has drawn holy men through all ages to ardently seek enlightenment
Added to all this is the welcome we receive from
the friendly Indian people, the good service they offer us and the almost consistent
blue skies and sunshine.
We cannot show you it all, an exciting glimpse only
of this colourful continent, a glimpse that will be a new experience and one
that may make you want to return,
