Principal vegetation: Acacia nilotica is the main species growing around the tank

Conservation measures proposed: Deepening of the tank is proposed

Land use: The waters of the tank are used for irrigation and fishing Disturbances and threats: Shooting of birds has been reported. The tank is getting silted up

Economic and social values: The tank is a major source of water for irrigation of surrounding areas

Fauna: A recent waterfowl census recorded the following : Arias penelope (348), Arias querquedula (6), Aythya fidigula (22), Nettapus coromandelianus (2), Chlidonias hybrids (6), Gelochelidon nilotica (4)
