About the Park
Ranthambore National Park is one of the popular tiger reserves in India located among the Aravali & Vindhya hill ranges in the state of Rajasthan. The park covers an area of 400 sq.km and comes under the district of Sawai Madhopur. In 1957 the Ranthambhore National Park was declared as a wildlife sanctuary and in 1972 it came under the Project Tiger Scheme. It became a National Park in the year 1982.
Climate
The Park experiences an extreme climate as the weather becomes hot in summer with temperature arround 45 degrees C & in winter temperature goes down to 2 degrees C. The best time to visit Ranthambore is during the months of October to March and April to June.
Wildlife Attractions in Ranthambore National Park
Flora : The park is generally dry & deciduous type with a variety species of trees including Dhok, Peepal, Mango, banyan, salar etc.
Fauna : Ranthambore National Park is famous for its tigers and apart from that there are a large number of wildlife including Sambar, Chittal, Nilgai, Jungle Cat, Leopard, Wild Boar and crocodiles can be found here.

fauna : The park also houses arround 264 bird species with many migrants. So this is an excellent place for bird watching.

Padam Talao : This is the largest lakes present in the park and is a perfect place to spot various animals on the lake side. The famous Jogi Mahal is located at the edge of this lake.
Raj Bagh Ruins : This is an ancient stone structure located between the Raj Bagh Talao and the Padam Talao where one can spot tigers resting inside the structure.
