Zambia is the finest place in Africa to enjoy the unforgettable experiences of walking and canoeing.
Our safari begins in the wilds of the South Luangwa National Park, a vast savannah that is home to some of the largest herds of elephant left on the continent as well as an abundance of buffalo, zebra, waterbuck, eland, Thornicroft's giraffe and their ever-present predators - lions, hyenas and particularly leopards. To walk through this wilderness tracking lions and stealthily approaching zebra and buck is a special experience reserved for the adventurous.
You then fly east to the Lower Zambezi National Park and the secluded comforts of Sausage Tree Camp. This idyllic riverside retreat accommodates only twelve guests in open-sided, Bedouin influenced tents that enjoy expansive views across the Zambezi River and flood plain. Enjoy guided walking safaris and canoe excursions along the river and to explore the backwater channels.
From the tranquil, beauty of the Lower Zambezi you fly to the town of Livingstone on the Zambian side of Victoria Falls where your safari concludes with 2 nights at Tongabezi Lodge. Renowned for its sublime riverside location, fine cuisine and stylish décor; using the lodge as a base you can participate in the regions x-treme adventure activities or just spend time enjoying the peaceful surrounds.
Throughout the safari your guides are excellent "bushmen" with a keen sense of the natural world and an enthusiastic knack for imparting their knowledge of the wilds. If you love being close to nature this safari is truly one of the "must do" experiences of a lifetime.
If time permits we highly recommend the 14 day version of this safari which includes 7 nights in the Luangwa Valley, 4 nights on the Lower Zambezi and 3 nights at Tongabezi. Zambia is a wonderful place for an unhurried safari. Prices are included on pricing page.
