Day 1
Arrive at JOHANNESBURG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT in Gauteng, land of gold. Meet & greet by a Spectrum Tour, English speaking registered tour guide. Transfer to the Swaziland Consulate in Pretoria for your visa application (visa fee to own account). While the visa is being processed, a sightseeing tour of the capital city will include visits to:

· Voortrekker Monument – commemorated to the first settlers in South Africa and the Great Trek
· House of Paul Kruger – former president of the South African Union
· Union Buildings & the Palace of Justice – today the houses of parliament

Pick up visa at the consulate. Afternoon visit to Gold Reef City. Lunch stop will be provided (to own account). Tour of the Gold Reef Mine lasts approximately 3-4 hours, the mineshaft is 226m deep. Enjoy the museums that depict historic Johannesburg and watch tribal dancing. A welcome, complimentary dinner from Spectrum Tour will be at the hotel (drinks to own account). Overnight at a hotel in Johannesburg. Flight booked by you. (D)

Please note: The Swaziland consulate is only opened from Monday – Friday until 12h00. We suggest arrival in the early morning hours in order to have visa issued. The consulate is closed on South African and Swaziland public holidays.

Day 2
Breakfast. Morning departure to Mpumalanga – the place where the sun rises. Extraordinary panoramic route of Mpumalanga includes stops at:

· Blyde’s River Canyon – one of the most spectacular natural phenomena to be seen in South Africa. It is the third deepest canyon in the world.
· Bourke’s Luck Potholes
· God’s Window.
· Pilgrim’s Rest, a living museum (time permitting). The entire town has been declared a national monument – taking you to the days of the old Transvaal gold rush. In September 1873, Pilgrim’s Rest was, after discoveries of alluvial deposits, officially declared a gold field. The unsurprising freneticism of migration occurred, and plots were staked and registered. Suddenly, with 1500 inhabitants, trade arrived, and a series of businesses grew around the settlement, followed by gold dealers, businessmen and explorers. Later, families arrived, giving the ramshackle collection of tents a more permanent-looking order of houses, buildings and schools. The town’s original architecture remains largely unchanged, leaving a tranquil settlement of beautiful homes and enchanting suburbs. A lunch stop will be provided en-route (to own account). Day 3
Breakfast. Depart for the world-famous Kruger National Park, the largest game reserve in South Africa, spanning some two million hectares, it showcases a rich diversity of bird and animal life in the world. After entering the Park via Numbi gate, enjoy your first game drive in coach. Please note, the speed linit in the park is 50 km/h and the coach is not allowed on all roads. Lunch (to own account) and the afternoon will be at leisure. Dinner at the rest camp (drinks to own account). At around 20h00 you will depart on a night game drive in a 4x4 safari vehicle. Overnight at a Rest Camp in the Kruger National Park. (B,D)

Day 4

At around 05h00 you will depart on an early morning game drive in a 4x4 safari vehicle. Breakfast will follow in a rest camp. The day will be spent at your leisure with lunch to your own account. Optional game drives or game walks can be arranged (to own account). At around 16h00 depart on a sunset game drive in a 4x4 safari vehicle. Dinner (drinks to own account) and overnight at a Rest Camp, in the Kruger National Park. (B,D)

Day 5
Morning game drive in the coach on the way out of the Park. Breakfast at a rest camp en-route. Afterwards leave Kruger National Park and drive to the Kingdom of Swaziland (approx. distance 60 km). Old, peaceful and incredibly varied the friendly, cheerful Swazi people have preserved their rich culture and traditions as a vital element in their day-to-day lives. Enjoy the beautiful scenic drive. Lunch will be en-route (to own account). While in Swaziland, you can visit candle and glass markets. Dinner (drinks to own account) and overnight at a hotel in Swaziland. After dinner you can enjoy a traditional Swazi dancing show. (B,D)

Day 6
Breakfast. Depart for KwaZulu Natal – a subtropical wonderland, and home to the historical Zulu king, Shaka. Lunch will be en-route (to own account). On arrival in the Hluhluwe Game Reserve area, the rest of the day will be at leisure. Relax at the swimming pool or take a stroll around the grounds. Dinner and overnight at a lodge in Hluhluwe. Day 7
05h30 – 08h30 depart on an early morning game drive in 4x4 safari vehicles in the Hluhluwe/ Umfolozi Game Reserve – the oldest game reserve in South Africa. While different to the Low Veld of the Kruger National Park, the more tropical bushlands area of Hluhluwe is absolutely wonderful and you are almost certain to see White Rhino. Breakfast and then a transfer to St Lucia Lake for a cruise with a sandwich lunch on board (12h00–14h00). Afterwards, transfer to Durban. The remainder of the day and dinner at leisure (to own account). We suggest an Indian restaurant for dinner, as Durban is famous for its superb curry dishes. Overnight at a hotel in Durban. (B,L)

Day 8
Breakfast. Short panoramic city tour of Durban on the way to DURBAN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT for the flight to Port Elizabeth. Flight booked by you.

Arrive at PORT ELIZABETH AIRPORT. Meet & Greet by a Spectrum Tour, English speaking registered tour guide. Your journey continues to Tsitsikamma National Park a place of mystery, of ancient rivers and forests, deep ravines and long forgotten tales. Lunch will be en-route (to own account). Traditional barbeque dinner (drinks to own account) & overnight at the Tsitsikamma National Park. (B,D)

Day 9
Breakfast. Morning at leisure. Mid-morning departure via Knysna, where oyster tasting at the Knysna Oyster Tavern can be enjoyed. Afterwards drive to Wilderness, time permitting you will be able to swim at a safe bathing beach. At 18h00, depart on a train for an evening excursion to Kaaimans Grotto Cave, which is reached by the Outiniqua Choo Tjoe train. Upon arrival at the Transnet Heritage Museum in George you walk down memory lane towards departure point. The exhibition is packed with photos, memorabilia, locomotives, vehicles and coaches of days gone by. After reporting at the welcome desk, board the train and depart on one of the most scenic railway lines in the world. The 35-minute journey to Kaaimans Grotto takes you through pristine indigenous forest areas, breathtaking views of the ocean, the beautiful Victoria Bay, two railway tunnels, and the famous Kaaimans River Bridge. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of olden day railway travel. You will disembark at the Grotto's platform and enjoy a hearty meal in a cave before your return to the hotel after 22h00. Overnight at a hotel in Wilderness. (B,D)

Day 10

Breakfast. Morning at leisure – time and weather permitting, enjoy swimming in the nearby, warm Indian Ocean. Mid-morning departure for Oudtshoorn – “Feather Capital”, where you can enjoy a demonstration on an Ostrich Farm. A lunch stop will be provided (to own account). Late afternoon arrival in Mossel Bay, the home of South Africa’s first post office. Dinner will be at leisure (to own account). We suggest the excellent Gannet restaurant nearby your hotel and more oyster tasting at the Oyster Bar. Overnight at a hotel in Mossel Bay. (B)

Day 11
Breakfast. This morning visit the Bartolomeu Diaz Museum Complex, which houses a life-size replica of Bartolomeu Dias’s caravel – the ship that he sailed into Mossel Bay in 1488. You can send a postcard from the post office (mail dispatched from the Post Office Tree is franked with a special commemorative stamp). Afterwards drive to Stellenbosch – the second oldest town in South Africa it is renowned for its Cape Dutch buildings, university and oak trees. A lunch stop will be en-route (to own account). Once in Stellenbosch, visit the Stellenbosch museum and enjoy wine tasting on some prestigious wine estates. Dinner at your leisure (to own account). Overnight at a hotel in Stellenbosch. (B)

Day 12
Breakfast. Enjoy cheese tasting at a farm before your departure for the Mother City, Cape Town. On your arrival visit:

· World Heritage Site, Table Mountain (weather permitting). Table Mountain is Cape Town’s most famous attraction and is 1 086m above sea level. The mountain is covered by thousands of species of wild flower and is the home of the famous silvertree. A glass of sparkling wine will be enjoyed on the summit.

· The Company’s Garden is the oldest garden in South Africa, established in 1652 by Jan Van Riebeeck as a vegetable garden to supply fresh produce to passing ships

· The South African Museum, which is the oldest Sub-Saharan museum.

· Diamond Works, an educational manufacturing company, where you will be able to see how these precious stones are cut, polished and set into jewellery.

Lunch and dinner will be at leisure (to own account). We suggest the Xhosa Imvelo restaurant in the nearby V&A Waterfront, where you can enjoy traditional African meals. Overnight at a hotel in Cape Town. (B)

Day 13
Breakfast. Morning departure for a full day Cape of Good Hope tour. The tour includes visits to:

· Boulder’s Beach - a 3000 strong African Penguin colony

· Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point Nature Reserve - 7 750 hectares of reserve are home to indigenous flora and fauna, including Baboon, Eland and over 150 species of bird including the biggest bird in the world, the Ostrich.

· Cruise to Duiker Island in Hout Bay (weather permitting) to view a Cape Fur Seal colony.

· Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens – the world famous indigenous gardens.

A take-away seafood lunch (including 1 soft drink) will be in Hout Bay, either before or after the cruise to Duiker Island. Dinner will be at your leisure (to own account). Overnight at a hotel in Cape Town. (B,L)

Day 14
Breakfast. Morning departure for a half-day township tour/ cultural experience. Stops will include visits to:

· The Bo-Kaap Traditional Malay Quarter where you will visit its dynamic museum and the oldest mosque in the Southern Hemisphere. Here you will discover the unique culture, lifestyle and personality of the Cape Muslim community and their contribution to South Africa's development.

· The District Six Museum - As a result of the Group Areas Act, 60 000 Capetonian families were forcibly removed from this once vibrant area between 1966 and 1982.

·A township and the Cape Flats - as hosts of local community workers, you take a walk through a vibrant black community with all its different social strata. Langa is Cape Town's oldest formal black township.

· The children at the Chris Hani Literacy School. You will have the opportunity to talk to people and try the traditional African sorghum beer and ginger beer at a small township shop ('spaza') or a tavern ('shebeen').

Return back to your hotel. The rest of the afternoon will be spent at leisure. Lunch and dinner at leisure (to own account). Overnight at a hotel in Cape Town. (B)

Day 15
Breakfast. Depending on time of departure, enjoy last minute time in Cape Town. Transfer to Cape Town International Airport for your flight back to Europe. (B) Tour ends. Flight booked by you.
