West Nepal is a new trekking frontier in Nepal - a fact not known to most trekkers who still prefer to trudge up and down the trails of Lanatang, Annapurna, Everest and other popular trek-regions of Nepal. Some definite experiences can be the following

Jumla to Rara - 11 days; Jumla to Dolpa via Balangra Pass - 6 days; Jumla to Dunai (Dolpo) via Kagmara-La, Palmo and Phoksundo - 12 days: Dunai to Phoksundo and back - 7 days; The Circuit: Dunai Phoksundo-Do-Tarap-Dunai - 12 clays; and Dunai to Pokhara - 13 days.

How to get there

There are regular flights from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj, the hub of the mid-western region. Surface transport by bus and car is also available. The town of Nepal-gunj is the gateway to the park. Helicopter hops can also be arranged between Kathmandu and Nepalunj. Surface drive from Delhi and Lucknow in India has become another popular way of visiting the park.
