India has created some typical and unique forms of jewellery which still bear testimony to its imagery and creative skill. Kundan and Meenakari jewellery, for instance, is a renowned traditional variety in which gem setting and enamelling are superbly done to catch the fancy of connoisseurs.

Noted centres of Kundan and Meenakari jewellery are Jaipur, Delhi, Varanasi, Lucknow and Hyderabad. Out of these, Jaipur and Delhi specialize in green and red enamel work. Varanasi is noted for pink, and Hyderabad excels in black. Lucknow and Delhi specialize in yet another variety of fine jewellery, Motichuni, which is studded with pearls and rubies in typical patterns.
