Haridwar the door of god. A pious and
holy city of the hindus. The city is located in the foothill of Hiamlaya
region. Here the river ganga reaches the plains. On the bank of Ganga
several temples and ashrams are located that are remarkable and stepping
you into a different pious world. Haridwar is the gateway of the chain
of Himalayan pilgrimage shrines such as Badrinath,rishikesh, Kedarnath
etc. The famous Kumbha Mela of India held only in the Haridwar. In the
city there are five pious and holy bathing places that are Gangadwara,
Kankhal, Bilwa Teertha, Nila Parvata and Kusavarta. There are many ghats
in the city, all of them Hari-ki-pairi is the most famous, where supposed
to be the footprint of lord vishnu on a stone. Aarti is celebrated at
every night at 7 p.m for the dieties. |
