In Ladakh, the new areas and routes have been established and some new areas
are recently opened for tourist. Some of tourist interested routes and areas
are listed below:
Leh-Dha-Hanu And Return
Dha -Hanu lies between the Indus and the Shayok confluence down to Khaltese
about 150 kms from Leh which have been recently open to foreign tourist.
This area inhabits by the pure Aryan people. They have distinct culture
than the rest of Ladakh. The area is famous for its cultural dresses and
dances. They are the only pure Aryan race which they still preserved.
Leh-Nubra Valley And Retun
Day - One Leh to Hundar (6-7 hours)after crossing
the Khardong-la pass, evening visit to Maitreya monastery of Hunder in the
evening, night stay at Hunder camp.
Day -
Second Visit to Diskit Monastery in the morning for poja, return
to camp for breakfast, visit to Panamik hot spring lunch at Sumur visit to
Samstanling Monastery- back to Hunder camp.

-Third Back to Leh from Hunder by same route (6-7hours)
Leh-Tsomo Ri-Ri - Tso-Kar And Return
The TSOMO-RIRI Lake is
a very fine sheet of water which is about 25kilometers in length and 4-6
kilometers in breadth. It is situated at an elevation of 15,000 ft above the
sea level. A large number of wild animals including Kyang (wild horse of
Ladakh) and different kind of birds are seen around this lake. Some among
these birds like black neck crane are rare species. During the summer month
it provides an ever lasting experience in life which can be called as rarer
on this earth. Near tsomo ri-ri lies TSO-KAR lake. This trip is for
three/four days.

- one Leh to Tsomo ri-ri 6-7 hours
Day
- second Stay at the bank of lake, visit to Korzok monastery
Day - third Tsomo ri-ri to Tsokar Lake 5-6
hour night stays at the bank of Tsokar
Day -
fourth Back to Leh via Taglang la pass (second highest motorabsle
road in the world)
Leh-Pangong Lake- Smangmik And Return
This is also a major
jeep safari circuit for the significant Pangong Lake at 14000 ft/4267m. from
the sea level. The lake is about 150 km. in length and 7km in width, less
than 50km. of which at the Indian side and rest in Tibet. There is no
permanent inhabitation at Pangong, in other surrounding villages, the tented
house called Rebo or Nomadic camps are seen in the summer months. These trip
can be complete in only two days
Day- One
Leh to Pangong Lake (5-6 hours) evening sight seeing around lake night stay
at Tented camp.
Day-Two Back to Leh
after visiting to surrounding nomad camps via same route. About other
interesting routes like Leh to Zanskar, Leh Serchu-Manali-Shimla-Delhi,
Leh-Kargil-Srinagar
