The Flying Boat Club
We are fortunate enough to have been invited to offer an all umber of rental weeks at The Flying Boat Club, the in-- latest development on Tresco. The club includes a collection of tree-bedroom and four-bedroom houses opening on to the beach and looking east across to the island of Bryher houses join the other 52 cottages available for holidays Tresco, however the difference is that the existing properties are mainly assigned to timeshare, whereas The Flyign Boat Club properties will be available to rent outside there reserved private ownership period of June to August - may be able to find some weeks in that period.
These spacious houses all have oak flooring downstairs, luxurious carpet upstairs, beautiful artwork throughout, wireless Broadband and satellite television. Downstairs the Kitchen and dining-rooms are connected by an open doorway and each siting-room has double patio doors leading on to the deck and then on to the beach. Upstairs the master bedrooms have magnificent views, through an expanse of glass outto the sea. Patio doors open out to a balcony in case you feel too slothful enjoying the view from your bed.
The flying Boat Club gains its name because it is built on the site of a first World War flying boat base. The club is a haven for liked minded people who want to escape for a while from the stress mainland life. With the houses comes member ship of The Flying Boat Club - a bar, a restaurant, an gym, a sauna, a steam-room and tennis courts. Entrance to the Abbey Garden is also included. You can even boat share your own motor 'Powercat' boat, fuelled and ready to go on arrival.
The comfort of the houses and facilities offered by the club and the rest of the island mean that this is the perfect one of the relax whatever the weather chooses to do. Talk to one of the locals they will say that Scilly is often at its most magnificent in the midst of an Atlantic strom, when you can tuck up by the fire and watch the waves breaking over the rock.
Travelling: If you want to get away from the mainland, there is a small price to pay - by definition, it is not as easy to get to an island. But it is worth it, our last three company 'Away-days' have been spent there. So, if we can do it for one day, it certainly must be worth it for a week! The easiest method is the scheduled helicopter service direct to Tresco. The flight time from Penzance is only 20 minutes. Alternatively, indirect flights on fixed-wing aircraft can be booked from Bristol, Exeter, Newquay, Southampton and Land's End to St Mary's. The Scillonian III takes just over two and a half hours for the sea-trip from Penzance to St Mary's. A launch will then take you from St Mary's to Tresco.
