Step back to an era of grandeur Situated in countryside just outside Penzance, Nancealverne House is a Grade II Listed (starred) 18th Century manor set within 14 acres of lawns, gardens and parkland. Steeped in history, part of the house was built with prize money from Nelson's battle of the Nile. The accommodation comprises the first floor and the majority of the ground floor - there is a further self-contained ground floor apartment on the other side of the house and two others at the rear. Granite steps approach the first floor entrance, which leads to the cosy sitting/dining-room. From here a corridor gives access to the bedrooms, which overlook the gardens. The kitchen is adjoined by a dining-room, which stables a full-size rocking horse, leading to a distinctive tent shaped snug. Elegant stairs then sweep down to the splendid ground floor drawing-room. Guests can stroll around the gardens or sit on the lawn, where a summer-house provides the ideal setting for al fresco dining. There is also a small lake (please take care with children), where a rowing boat enables guests to row to the central island. Sennen Cove, Porthcurno, St Ives and Marazion are a short drive away and all worth visiting.
