St Ives
St Ives needs little or no introduction. Famous not only for its winding streets, attractive harbour and beaches, but also its long association with many well-known painters; amply illustrated by the Tate Gallery which overlooks St Ives Bay. Barnabas Cottage is one of a collection of fishermen's cottages, thought to date back to the 17th Century and built together in the somewhat idiosyncratic fashion that typifies this 'downalong' area of St Ives. It is tucked away down a narrow side street, yet is only 60 yards from the sea and within two minutes' walk of Porthminster Beach and its renowned Porthminster Cafe. The compact open plan living-room is charmink with traditional furnishings, some exposed granite and a wood-burner effect stove. Upstairs space is limited with an occasional low beam, but both the bedrooms are pretty and there is a shower and separate cloakroom at the top of the narrow stairs.
